This is a special lecture for equine veterinary surgeons, mixed practice veterinary surgeons, nursing staff, physiotherapists and manual therapist, and people with an interest in new techniques and technologies to improve clinical outcomes in the equine species.
It will explain what photobiomodulation is relating to therapeutic lasers, how a good modern therapy laser can penetrate from skin deep to sacroiliac ligamentous disorders in the horse, and how a proper therapy laser can accelerate healing within minimal scarring, and reduced pain and inflammation.
Clinical publications will illustrate the core science and clinical validation, with other without modern medical drugs, regenerative medicine and rehabilitation techniques.
In the second half it will look at different types of surgical lasers and their range of applications for the equine patient.
